Dr. David Downey is the former Chief of Cardio-Thoracic Surgery at Gaffney Chicago Medical Center. He was a premiere cardiac surgeon and the mentor of Cardio-Thoracic Fellow Dr. Connor Rhodes. He died at the end of Season 1 due to liver cancer.
